Goodie2Shoes 07-30-2003, 01:49 PM Hi!
How can I apply 2 or 3 different textures on certain polygons in an editable mesh model [edit mesh modifier used]?
(i have max 4.2)

you need a multi sub object material, apply it, then just change the face material id in the mesh.

Oh... & what about the 'UVW map' modifier...? I need one as a box & one as a planar... [for the 2 kind of materials...]

but you expect us to take the time for lengthy explanations when it's all in the manual?
i admit that sometimes it's hard to find answers in there, if you don't know exactly what you're looking for...so here are some hints..
- to apply multiple materials just select some polys and apply materials ;), you can also do that using a multi/sub-object (>manual) and material id's (>manual).. this method gives you better control over your mat id's
- for multiple uvw channels use the 'map channel' slider in the uvw map modifier. just set up one uvw modifier for your first material (set UVW Channel to 1, and 'Map Channel' in the properties of your bitmap also to 1), then set up a second modifier, setting both to 2....
