Are there any tutorials out there that will tell me how to rig a face for professional animation??? Though if you think you could explain it clearly, then please do...
I use Maya 2009.

The stuff in the Hyper-real rigging courses is still valid to this day. I recall 2 DVDs about facial rigging and at least one more about blendshape modeling, I suggest you try to find these.

for sure you should check that gnomon hyper real facial rigging because nothing is really changed from that time so far... also you should ( MUST ) have and read Jasons Osipa "stop staring" book for facial rigging in maya... but you can use it like foundation in every software as well...

Buy Jason Osipa's Stop Staring (http://www.amazon.com/Stop-Staring-Facial-Modeling-Animation/dp/0782141293) book. Seriously, that's all you need. It's $35 and worth every single penny. You will probably not find any tutorial online that's even half as good as the rig in that book.

I've been told Fahrenheit Digital's facial rigging for feature animation (http://www.fahrenheitdigital.com/dvds/rigging/facial-rigging-dvd.php) is quite good, haven't seen it though.

fahrenheit is really good too, but much more advanced with custom cartoon squash and stretch controls... i think that you should start with Jason Osipa's book in first place... Because someone who's not that familiar with basic facial rigging easily could get lost with fahrenheit... (http://www.fahrenheitdigital.com/dvds/rigging/facial-rigging-dvd.php)

i've been wanting to buy fahrenheits dvd's...but their site has been like this... "We will return shortly, please check back soon. Sorry for the inconvenience." for a long time now...

anyone know where i can buy their dvds outside their site? or anyone know when the site will go back live again?
