Hi,

I'm in the process of rigging my character. I have several motion capture clips that I would like my character to do. Should I bring my character into Motion builder and rig him there. Or do I rig him in Maya, then import the skeleton into Motion Builder, to then transfer the data. I just started learning Motion Builer specifically for this. Which is a better workflow, that would save me possible headaches? Thanks in advance.

You could setup the FBIK rig in maya on your skeleton, export that to motionbuilder, target the mocap on to it.. load it in to maya (use animation layers to edit with) if you have the latest maya.

other wise, just build the skeleton in maya, export and use motionbuilder. load the baked animation back only back on to your maya skeleton.

then you can always touch up that data with some extra rigging in maya if needed...
