View Full Version : Two 2D portraits : Poo Girls
I've been trying a couple portraits over on Eat Poo ... C&C would be nice as these are a bit different from my usual stuff. Well, at least they seem that way to me.

Both are great, you know how to show character in the eyes.
I like the more second one, itīs nearer to your style (and it shows in the work time) more comic, but with nice and realistic colors, and she looks as a girl I knew. The first one seems an achieved challenge to you, working directly in photoshop and aiming to photorealism.

eat poo? hmm..
the second one I like, charismatic.. but the first one look somehow a bit weird.. perhaps the pose.. perhaps the proportions. head looks big, and heavy.

take care of the figure on the first drawing....
2nd pic is good!

summeralive - What an insightful critique. Thanks for sharing 10 seconds of your time. In my future work I'll take extra "care of the figure" as per your suggestion.
basse - Top of the head maybe a little heavy, but I think it has a bit to do with the camera angle. I noticed this also, but I think it adds to her gaze (she has a very focused look). I'm not trying to make an excuse for a flaw in my accuracy, but some errors I leave there intentionally.
However, no excuses for her left eye ... :D
I just didn't feel like trying to correct it anymore.
Pancreas - Yes, the first one was an attempt at getting away from painting 'within the lines' and keeping things loose and undefined (allowing the colors to define the form).
