I'm a recent high school graduate and just moved to Las Vegas. I'm really interested in becoming a 3D/Texture Artist and wondering what would be the best route for me to take.
I didn't realize that most schools don't offer degrees related to digital art. I also didn't realize that there aren't very many schools here in Las Vegas to choose from.
The only schools that do anything 3d related here is a community college and an Art Institute. Both offer Animation courses, but no straight-up 3d program. The AI isn't really an option for me because it's too expensive and far away.
Would the best option be to:
Take the two year course for Animation at the community college.
Get a bachelors in Art, and get my 3D education through online courses.
Take a Game Design course at an IT Tech school.
Or is there another option I'm not thinking about?
Thanks for your time!
