Hegemony Evolution is a special fx/martial arts film that my cousin and I did 4 years ago, when I was 18, and I was thinking about adding it to my portfolio.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

NOTE:
I think I might have an upload limit. If you can't download the film now, please try again later. It will only allow 3 or 4 downloads at a time.

How could that be? At this very moment, I see 3 people downloading from me. Maybe there is a limit. I'll double check my settings.

P.S.

You should always post a link to the direct file not a webpage...

I think my internet provider put a limit on how many uploads I can have going at once, and I think that limit may be 3.

k finally got it...took a long time to download from home so I ended up downloadin from werk.

Fun portfolio piece. I was a lil confused in the beginning about what was goin on and it was a bit dark and couldnt make out things very well. The fight sequence was choreographed well! Nice pace and timing. Looks like you had some fun makin it. Good luck with the portfolio and hope to see more stuff!

Peece,
Mel

Whew, that took some time to download ... about 2 hrs here.
It looks like it was fun making it, but I wouldn't add it to a portfolio. Don't take me wrong, it's not too bad, I did such films myself when starting out, I guess everybody did them.
I don't know about the story .. I surely didn't get it, looked like some alibi stuff to get a fight sequence started. And it was kinda boring in the beginning I have to admit.
Camera work was solid, but with some flaws: you did some disturbing jumps with your camera from one side of a character to the other, a tripod would have been really good and some scenes are underlit.
Since it's 4 years old the compositing is not that bad - but with todays standards it's not very convincing, even for a home production.
Editing is nice - esp the fight, which has a nice choreography - probably the strongest point of the film.
Some of the CLASH, BANG sounds are really cheesy and should vary more - reminded me of some really old honkong kungfu flics.
I don't know what you are wanting to show in your portfolio (editing, camera, compositing, directing?) but if you need to take this film in, I would advice you to shorten the first part. It's really confusing - accordingly boring.
Anyway, I hope this didn't sound too bad. Keep it up and keep filming - my 4 year old films are worse, really worse - so I can imagine you learned a lot since then.
Cheers. :applause:

Thank you very much for the critique and advice.

And yes, I have learned a lot since the making of Hegemony. I just wanted to add something to my portfolio to give 'the people' something to compare my most recent work to, which would hopefully in turn give them a look into the evolution of my creative processes.

Note To Everyone:
Is there another place where I could host my movie?
