how can you use make an eps image file with a transparency?
i didnt believe eps files supported transparencies, i had believed
the only way you could get a transparency would be through some sort of psd, or a gif. normally id just use gifs

Could you explain what your wanting to do with it?
Makes a big difference if your talking about web or print.

Eps files do support transparency (in print - not web).

Just last night I was bringing a little frivol from Ai to InD. I pasted it... white background. I saved as AI... white background. I saved as EPS... no background.

Now, that's merely "doesn't have object where it doesn't have object" and not "this object has some alpha." I don't know which question you are asking. Give me a minute and I'll check the second...

Not a lot of luck there. Looks like Photoshop flattens the image on its way to EPS. I was able to preserve alpha from Photoshop to Illustrator but not InDesign by saving as PDF. Didn't bother to test PSD ;-).

Never variable alpha from Illustrator to InD or PShop, only clipping path (if you will).

Still, as another has mentioned... what's your actual question?
