View Full Version : How to create this sort of xray/scatter shader?

It's like a cross between an xray and LOADS of subsurface scatter.

I was thinking you could do this kind of thing with a ramp shader?

use a facing ratio and a ramp for the incandescent or color of the shader... apply glow in post and blammo your done

Thats the easy way. you could add some grain to the ramp, or some other textures to really bring out details.

and you could do a SSS pass invert it and screen it on top of the other image to help give it some variation... although in the pictures you provided it looks like the artist was trying out a few different techniques, because the larger image doesnt look ot have any SSS at all

You could also try using the Ramp Shader.
