Yeah, that would be great, but after all the negative things I have seen over the last 3 years, I'm quite cautious with my hopes.
They really have managed to get one of the baddest images in the industry - everyone I talk to here in germany knows only that they are the guys who never delivered something finished and working and who sold a package 3 years ahead of delivery etc.
It is very interesting to simply look at the pmg News page and go to the button at the bottom "News Archive" - read those older anouncements:
"messiah for Mac OS X Press Release January 11, 2001
Yes! Mac OS X ports are in the works for our entire new product line, messiah:studio, messiah:animate and messiah:render!"
or
"See The Light Press Release July 23, 2000
messiah:render, an all new photo-real global illumination renderer is announced! Available on its own, or as part of messiah:studio, messiah:render will allow artists to create their most realistic images ever with a minimum of fuss."

It gives me the creeps when looking at those dates ... ;-)

They will have to do a lot of work to get any reliability-reputation back...

I also hope that at one point they hire a marketing guy instead of a tired Lyle scaring the users away with mails like those latest on the mailinglist.
Their public relations are really down at the bottom... ;-)
And if there isn't at least an Animate 3.4 for free, there will be a lot more licenses being sold soon I fear....
They simply never completeley delivered what they sold for Animate 3 - and now people have to pay for it again...
Why not make the update cheaper for Animate users than for 1.57-plugin users? I will never understand their kind of marketing ;-)

But now, back to learning Maya ...

Cheers,
Thomas

On the topic of dates, have a look at Merlin 3D (http://www.merlin3d.com) and note their 2001 Siggraph Special

Fun...

I have been playing with Rev. 9 now for a couple of days and
have to humbly sumbit that this is an awe inspiring application.
The auto-rig function is incrediblly easy to use and animates
well and that is just one feature. Motion dynamics are cool and
work well, haven't really experimented that much though.
MA is and has been a pleasure to work with...a wonderful tool...
I for one am a very happy camper and salute the guys at PMG
for their continued perseverance and vision. Thanks a lot guys!

I hope they will release a new demo version. The 3.3 demo is almost a year old.
