What sort of font can I use in Maya 5.0 os X ? I can't get half of my fonts to work. Lots of "Command text curves failed"

sorry if I don't address your question exactly as you ask, but you can import text etc from Illustrator. File/Import/*.ai.
That way you can use whatever font(and more) that you want.

I was looking for built-in solution but I will use illustrator.
