View Full Version : Editing UV's very slow
Bpanting 07-29-2003, 05:31 PM I am laying out the UV's of my character right now. The entire body model is about 20,000 Poly's. I have it set up with selection sets so I can turn areas on or off. After I isolate an are a start pulling UV's it takes quite a wile to update. The computer I am using is pretty good and I have an ATI Fire GL X1 for a card. Anyone know of a way to speed this up, or is the model just to big? Its going to take me for ever to do this at this rate.

if you have 20000 polygons tahts alot of uvs. but like you said there not all on the screen at once. do you have fast interaction on? i remember i had that on long ago and i think it did nothing but slow everything down. thats all i can think of. i have had alot of uvs on my screen at once they moved fine. but the more you have on there of course the slower your update.

Thanks for the advice, but I figured it out. I had a few things in the history and that were slowing it down. I should have checked that out before. My bad I guess. :annoyed:
