There definitly some free insights and understandings here:
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=A7756842D6CE3BFD
and the full DVD is now online (not free, subscription)
http://area.autodesk.com/blogs/duncan/maya_fluid_effects_dvd_now_online
The subscription page is hard to find a price. I wanted to go there and maybe just get it, but it's not that easy. You can't just buy it online you have to subscription member today, contact your Autodesk Authorized Reseller. Anyhoo, I've already seen this DVD a few times but not for a few years, and went to the Master class that they did together (Best fluid master class to date!). It goes into a lot of detail, and will most likely pass the your understanding at some point, since it did me for a long time. The scene files are invaluable to learning, possibly the best part of the DVD. I still keep them on my computer to reference and check out.
Anyway, we all know Duncan is the best. I would recommend seeing about getting these, or at least watching the free samples.
