Nice layout and use of 3D. I really like the lighting and the palette you've got in there so far. I know it'll change a bit as you paint over it, but nice work so far!

Irawan, absolutely agree with you . the head too big, arms to strong and big ..and .. i hate his back pose ..originally he was bended back and then i changed to a pose of resistance bending forward ..and dont think is working ..

Looks really cool, although I think it needs some space around the image. Or is that on purpose?

Really great job so far turning your 3D model into something that feels entirely hand-done. It's looking great! My only suggestion would be to research the room details more - stuff like the chair and table and shelves on the wall. All of them seem to be over-simplified from reality, lacking the structural supports that most furniture would have. (i.e. table undersides usually have additional support for where the legs attach to the top, and chairs often have more cross-pieces bracing the legs to each other.) It's a really small picky point, but it's small details like those that could help add a nice dose of additional verisimilitude to your painting (and everything else is looking so nice!) Good luck!

thank you guys.
I totally agree with you ..all those detail will start emerging over the paint process ..i'll keep an eye on that.
And Joana. you mean space in the outer area? i tried during the layout but it just looked to "wide angle" ..but of curse that was in the 3d software with real lens rules.. i guess i can give it some "2d" air later on.

I'm really liking this. It has a playfulness which is fun to see in such a ghastly situation. I think it's because of the way you handled the faces and expressions.
You've done well in leading my eyes around the room, but as I look around I want to find clues as to why this is happening (objects on the bookshelves or behind the door).
Looks like a lot of fun.
Great job and good luck!

Thanks Leachud! to be able to go trough the paint for more than a blink is important and you right ..What crime he committed ? of what act of heroism he was planning ? depending on the point of view ..i have some papers falling and stuff in the wall im planning to fill with something to tight the event together ..no idea what yet But hey,. i take ideas there ..
is he steling info? , writing a new mannifesto? , following the mafia ? ..will be happy to hear some options!

The details are all looking really nice. I like the period camera you've added/ The man in the last post - the one who's grabbed the woman - well, his face seems almost completely devoid of emotion. Considering all that's going on in the scene, it might be nice to make his face a tad more expressive in some direction or another... just an idea. Good luck!

i tried to avoid the traditional idea of a secret agent with values who fights the bad guys and all that. instead i focused on a more naturalistic aspect depicting secret agents like what they generally are, sociopaths with government salary with no remorse or glamor, technicians of dead and repression at best.
In this particular case they are probably "working" on someone who is trying to uncover an awful truth, maybe a journalist or a lawyer..most likely someone honest.
didn't want to present an obvious story, instead i left enough elements that could run people imagination. hope it works.
For the style i tried to follow the pulp fiction magazines covers palette, mood and time ( 40's-50's ) and it turned to be very hard.
Anyway. hope you like it !

Hello Walrus. Thanks for your comment. Actually, after trying 2 or 3 expressions, i found that i very "dead" and unemotional face looked better but you right, at least some glint should be there so i added a very very small touch of sadistic smile that can be appreciate only at full size. maybe it wasn't enough .
Diissar. you absolutely right ( what an eye!). moved the cigarette and now doesn't float anymore. fixed the smoke as well.
Dimat, thank you very much to point that out. while playing with a vintage look that was happening. i guess with the last color correction it feels jsut right.
I imagine i still can update my final image with some minor corrections so more than ever your comments are welcome!!!
cheers, thanks for the feedback and good luck to you all with your entries !

Hey Daniel,
I like the final look: the colors are really great. My favourite part is the lady and the guy in the background. They fit really well in the style, environment and mood and the lighting on them is great too. Their poses and moves adding a lot to the dynaic of the final image. Love the dramatic shadows on the walls. (That corner of the image is a perfect imitation of a detective magazine from the 50's.)
You caught the mood of those times very well, I think.
Good luck!

Hey Daniel,
Congrats for your great finish. Love your image, awesome mood, really great achived with the lights of the lamps and the night through the window :D. You freezed a dramatic instant, and I can feel that drama and action in your image. Great details on the concept, the camera is a superb touch and puts the intrigue note in the concept and the story. Great work!! And now time for a lot of "aguardientico" and tequila shots!! Cheers my friend!!

Piktor, danky, apumia, Ferx ( pero claro mi hermano ) and MartinNielsen thank u very much for ur kind words and feedback. I wasn't particulary happy with the end result so means a lot.
Im not happy with the result because i thing i got caught in a style trap, a wrong aproach, trying to do a super detailed image that doesn't have line work but only paint became pretty hard for me mostly by the fact that line work helps always to provide a sense of motion and extra expression ..is not only with the line work but the brush strokes as well and actually more important..i totally lost control of brush 'freshness" in the moment i used 3d elements as a base ..i kind of gave myself a bunch rules and limits ..with no free obvious thick brush strokes things feel more frozen and stiff than usual. and it is like a snow ball, you go all detail and sharp perfect finishing over here and then over there now looks unfinished and so on. And my style and limitations i don't think work well with that approach. ..anyway .it was fun.
The best works in my opinion are those that capture light, expression and the feeling of time with a few brushstrokes and lines . long way to get there!
cheers!

Hi Daniel
First and all congratulation only finish this kind of challenge is a reward and you do very good, I like a lot your final analysis of your work this auto-critics make you grow very quick like artist, is true what you say to paint over 3D this happen to me too, and if I can say some of C&C of the final image you do, is they need more fine detail and texture for the size (to big) or like you say line and more plain gouache style colors like European comic artists Tardi, Torres or Jimenez, but the overall result in colors, atmosphere and composition your image are very very good, thanks for your support and now you have a friend in Venezuela, bye.
Good Luck.
Un abrazo y espero nos volvamos a encontrar en el proximo challenge.
