hi friends, i need to clear this doubt. i made a 10 sec animation part.. the output .avi file got from the playblast option.. but i dint get the high quality clip.. i changed the render setting to production quality high and resolution 72 with maya software, mental ray. and got the output avi from play blast, with render settings. but the quality of video is still same.. can u give me the suggestions on render setting to get the high quality video..

A playblast is a low-quality screen capture of your scene.
I think you need to render (render > batch render) your scene, and get a sequence of images. Then you can make your avi movie with another software.

also, make sure you're upping the default settings and image filter to a high quality (switch to mitchell instead of box - that's the one i prefer) Play around with all those settings, it should make you a happier renderer :)
