these are all amazing! the 2nd and 4th remind me of a cell-shaded star wars atmosphere, while the other 2 remind me of blade runner. awesome job!

Could you eaplain a little more about them.
And do you have any early shots which would show how you acheived the final results.
Great work anyway.

These are really good. But they are more than just "well-drawn" - they also hold some very positive ideas.
Most futuristic societies that we see on TV and in movies are either dark and dystopian (e.g. Blade Runner) or hedonistic and primitivist. Your future society, on the other hand, is both bright and industrial. People like living there, using technology, and being a part of a greater mechanism.
In a way, your art romanticizes technological and social progress. I hope that we see here the beginning of a new art movement that embraces technology and order... An antithesis to Lord of the Ring and Starwars.
David Brin, a popular Sci-Fi writer, once wrote mockingly:
"Wouldn't life seem richer, finer if we still had kings? If the guardians of wisdom kept their wonders locked up in high wizard towers, instead of rushing onto PBS the way our unseemly "scientists" do today? Weren't miracles more exciting when they were doled out by a precious few, instead of being commercialized, bottled and marketed to the masses for $1.95?"
I think your art says, "I live in a world where miracles are commercialized, bottled and marketed to the masses for $1.95, and I fu*king like it."
Fantastic job.
I like the second and third ones most.

The more textured pieces were done in Photoshop 7, whereas the other two were in 5.5. I don't have any in progress shots to show, sorry.
In terms of explanation, my process is basically to take a relatively tight line drawing and then paint a 50% color underneath. Then I just start laying in layers of transparent textured brushstrokes to get some interesting visuals. Right now I'm just using one brush to do each painting, but just messing with all of the options in the texture palette and trying new combinations.

Couldn't quite describe the feeling of these paintings. It's really nice and detailed. I thought it's some oil paintings.
The first and third don't look futuralistic to me.

huh.. the third and fourth ones are just awesome. I dont understand what somebody said about studying mood,.. what makes these pictures great is that they are not just fancy talent of drawing.. they DO have mood in them.
expressionist style... not too detailed..
it's a shame you dont have any progress-pictures..
