is there any good tutorials about how to make old dirty, rusty, scratched metal textures?

i made a fighter,no one will like a new fighter,so i am trying to make it old and dirty, aged, after many wars...

i don't know the materials on the surface of the fighter very well, how many layers should i paint? dusty layer, oil stains layer, scratch layer...i don't even know how to call those materials in english.

anyone can send me some good tutorials about how to make this kind of textures?

thank you!

I'm not familiar with any such tutorial, however you can search the net for referenceimages of old machines, airplanes, helicopters and other mechanical devices which been weathered and aged. Then you will see how age and use affects certain types of metals and such things.

For things like spaceships you might wanna take into considerations such things as heat damage when passing through atmospheres of planets, weapon damages, collision damages, engine heat causing metal discoloration near the engines and stuff like that. :)

Those are the best tips i can give you now, sorry for not pointing you to any tutorials.
