View Full Version : something like wrap deformer ?
seb4d 07-29-2003, 08:17 AM Hi,
in Maya wrap deformers are really usefull.
Is there something similar in XSI ?
Or does someone know a technique to control a hires mesh thanks to a lowres mesh ?
Thanks in advance !

Create a sub division surface from the low res model.
Select the mesh then : Model>Create>Poly.Mesh>Subdivision
This generates a high res version which is dependant on the low res geometry. Dont edit the high res mesh directly as this will cause problems, only edit the low res mesh.
this might help

It couldn't be easier !
Thanks steverage.
Another question, is it possible to use any lowres mesh to control the hires ? For example say I have a hires mesh but no longer have the lowres that I used to generate it, can I build a rough cage to use as a deformer ?

create an object, another one around the first
applay cage deformer to the first, pick the second
edit the second, and have a nice day
(:D yes, the deformer can be a shape-animated)
