Hey everyone!

I've finished editing my latest tutorial, and it's now available on my website. It's about how you can use Turbosquid to sell your 3d content (http://www.mrbluesummers.com/?page_id=1126). I've found it to be a great way to make some money on the side, and I'd like to share some of my insights with you so that you can do the same.

This tutorial walks through four major steps of the process. We start by talking a little about what Turbosquid is all about, how much you can reasonably expect to make, and other important considerations before you begin. Then we'll go through a quick project walkthrough where I model and prepare a 3d cellular phone (http://www.turbosquid.com/FullPreview/Index.cfm/ID/475188) for upload. Finally, I'll show you some of my favorite techniques for maximizing product exposure, buyer satisfaction, and (of course) revenue.

Nice, I've been interested in Turbosquid for some time now, since I am usually pretty busy and I could use Turbosquid to sell completed models and shaders while I concentrate on other things. I never really followed through because I don't have a paypal account, which I believe you need, and I wasn't too clear on the whole process. I am planning on finishing a collection of models I made, and completing a library of Mental Ray shaders I've been writing. Is it a good idea though to sell those collections, and sell individual components of those collections? For example, you sell a collection of 100 detailed vehicle models for $1000 and you also sell 10 vehicles in seperate categories like "Sports Cars" or "Motorcycles" for $100, and you sell each individual vehicle for $10. Also can you set up bulk discounts?

BTW, it would be hilarious if anyone actually bought this-

Also can you set up bulk discounts?Typically discount products work by: setting a base price for an individual product (this will be the highest priced if they buy all content). Create collections where the buy gets a greater discount as the purchase more products. So say you have 100 items you want to make atleast $10 on each item, I would do something like: 100 for $1000 ($10 per model), 10 for $150 ($15 per model), and 1 for $20. The idea behind this is you are more likely to sell the collections as the buyer will see it as a better value.

Just a thought,
-Eric
