View Full Version : Vampire
curannon 07-07-2009, 11:30 PM Hi guys. Working on a vampire this time. Old proud and neat :) just started out in zbrush. Before going to far on the z-brushing I feel that something is missing. I need something to break the symmetry, a gadget, something in the clothing. Don't realy know. Any suggestions?
Preferrably something I can stick on him so I don't have to start all over with the basemesh.

Looking good. Pehaps a timepiece (watch on a chain) on his jacket (you'd need to create a jacket pocket though), or a handkerchief in said pocket?

A watch is exactly what my friend said :) I'm going for 18th century look. So a watch might not fit with that time. Hankerchief is good though. makes him even more posh. I'll try that. thanks. thinking about a sable held with a strap across his chest, like an old military. Why would a vampire need a sword though? hmm...

Well these are 18th century pocket watches (http://images.google.co.uk/images?source=ig&hl=en&rlz=&q=18th%20century%20pocket%20watch&lr=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi) ;)
What about a decorative walking stick (http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&um=1&q=+site:www.hermitagemuseum.org+18th+century+walking+stick)?

hi there,
Great start looking good so far! i agree with the pocket watch and walking cane!
why not try some smaller details too like a ring or two for his hands to brake them up a little
http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&safe=off&um=1&sa=1&q=18th+century+rings
for ideas try searching for the modern day goth scene for a few ideas
e.g. whitby goth weekend etc.. you never know you might find a little bits from those poeple you can transfer to your model!
great goin btw it'll be good to see your final outcome!
Adam.

A little update. haven't had time to work to much with him. but now it's vacation time so maybe I can finish this one off. Rings and pocket watches and canes is gonna work great with the concept I think.
For now I am a little annoyed since I can't get symmetry to work. it kinda works in symmetry but on the one side that i'm not drawing everything gets "softer" and it loses a lot of details.
Smart resym doesn't work at all. It gets all messed up or doesn't do anything. I'm new to z-brush so if any of you guys have any tips i would appreciate it. Seams like a waste to sculpt the ear twice for instance.
Well here is the update anyway
