the max renders seens a lot better, i like it more than the MR render, try using more lights a fake a little radiosity, dont just use GI and FG play a little with the lights

the shadow should be more soft try using softshadows with mr they great and not too slow, and the blur in the background is too hight, and make some color correction to the background image. i still like more the max render :) , it was the max standar or some plugin¿?

thanks for the hints.. i'll try. Yes the max scene was rendered using the old brazil -alpha- HHMmmm: now i'm sad...

it looks like studio lighting.. as others pointed out, softer shadows.. maybe some sunlight...
..I like the chair btw!

hehe :) nows a lot better dude, but the green bounce of light in the wall is too hight the shadows are a lot better now, try upping the energy and changing the color of the energy, the value of energy in MR for maya is float RGB is i``n not wrong
keep up is getting nicer :thumbsup:

that's lookin really cool. Only thing is that the chair, now, look unnaturally bright.
However, in all the pics, the chair looks very close to photo real.
