Hi this is my first post here. This ad was for a client who wanted a "sexy" krispy kreme ad. All done in Illustrator and PhotoShop. The question I have is in Illustrator I had to trace every contour of my lines to accomplish the varients in real comic inking with pens. Is there a more efficient way to accomplish this? Like customizing brushes etc. My next step is to paint her and I have a good idea how to do that. Thanks and all comments are welcome. Oh, the pose is taken from an Olivia painting but I wanted to try my comic style and add lots more stuff. Oh sorry for the crappy copy too! Thanks!

Yep.

1. Use a pressure sensitive Wacom tablet (works in Illustrator with the brush-tool).

2. Paint them in Photoshop with a Wacom or scan a drawing on paper. If you need it in vector (like illustrator) use vector-conversion software, like Adobe Streamline to convert your pixels to vectors. Flash works fine for that also.

cheers, Jeroen

But her head is in front of the logo so I can't read it.

Thanks for the comments and the tips. Thats a good idea. i have a Graphire tablet but am unsure how that works. So I trace over my drawing with it and then depending on how hard I press I can make my "ink lines" thicker or thinner in Illustrator? if thats the case thanks for your help alot Jeroen.

yep, that's how it works ;)
use the brush tool, not the pen tool.
