Hi guys - this is my first post. I am intending to paint a scene from XVIII century depicting a moment when a secret agent hands over a letter (or anything else) to his lady. Unfortunately I am not too good with gadgets and other modern stuff ;)

It has been inspired by the three musketeers and may change soon, but here it is now - just a couple of blobs and colours to start with. If I don't start with something I will not... well.. start at all ;)

Nice to see a more medieval idea... It can turn out pretty sweet, I'm sure!
I think though u can def try to add mystery.. maybe using facial expressions... maybe the agent is looking ahead at something behind the ladywhile his head is head is bowed... maybe so is the lady, almost like some sort of cat-and-mouse game while still maintaining protocol.
Maybe his hand behind is hlding a knife or so (cliche but still...) :)
good luck!

You are absolutely right - since the picture is not dinamic, the faces shoult be :)

Another attempt in the same invironment. Sth "more dinamic" - well a bit more ;)

A musketeer defending the lady or perhaps an evil secret agent hoding her as a hostage. The blobs in front are a hand of an (apparently lefthanded) evil character/rescuer depending on the final choice ;)

I can't submit both skethes at once so I am going to do it one by one. This one is "a secret murder" comitted by a secret agent on a woman who is a powerful villain. Her bodyguard got distracted by some noise outside and left her alone with a man she'd always thought she could trust.

Yet another sketh. Started with a western feel (maybe I will go back to it) and it ended up in a modern can-can club.
Tell me please which way I should go, cause I got lost a bit ;)

Hello!! I would also say last one.

Katea
07-10-2009, 11:47 PM
W-I-L - I get it now :)

coochaki - that's a good idea :) I was also not satisfied with the ordinary look of the man. I made him an alien(see next post) but aplying some military feel could be good too (see next post) :)

miycko,mic - thanks :)

Now as I said I changed the mans look ;)
I'm still not sure if this is the right shape though.
Anyway - also - some WIP on the whole picture too :)

looking good. is she threatening to shoot him or has she actually already shot him? if she has shot him already maybe he should have his head back with the force of the impact. good looking alien isn't he? :D

Katea

W-I-L I dont know yet but I think threatening is better - more suspense - is she going to kill him or not? ;)))

Still working on the image.
I've changed the alien, I'm still working on the whole scene. I'm also adding red colour to her skin.
I thought she should have sth in her hand so that threatening the guy actually makes sense. So i thought of a syringe. I don't know yet which way of holding it is better. The first one seems sexier but the second one makes more sense if you want to stab someone with it ;) Or maybe I should leav the hand as it was? ;/

Also do you too think the whole scene looks better mirrored? :)

good progress! i like the left side more.cheers

Katea

Irawan - First vote for the sexy one :)

W-I-L
07-13-2009, 07:20 PM
the first one is better and makes more sense. if she is threatening to syringe him with poisin or true serym or whatever then hoding the threatening object high is more menecing. plus the second one looks like she is syringing her leg, which i assume she would not want to do :hmm:

hi,i agree with Irawan and W-I-L the left one(first) is better, good luck with your image,im sure you will do a great job!

W-I-L - so true - we wouldn't want thatfor sure! :)

dissar - thank you :)

ajitmenon

the first one is definitely more interesting!
There is a feeling of a threat.. as if she is soon about to do something.
The second makes sense in terms of motion but the motion is clunky and doesn't have as good directionality as the first.
:)
hope this helps!

Hey Katea,

Like a lot the concept, really nice mood on the can-can club. My vote is for the lefy side image :) But think you can use a some sort of tech droid syringe ( like the syringe droid of Star Wars I when Darth Vader is interrogating Princess Lea :D), maybe floating over the left handīs palm of the girl, perhaps can be a nice gadget for the concept.... only silly thoughts :) Cool work and looking forward for more updates!! Cheers!!

Your lighting's looking really nice. I'd love to see it when it's done. I prefer the 1st one even if it's less realistic. The syringe silhouette reads much better. Also, her right thigh looks a bit strange. I think it'd be a little smaller and wouldn't originate so far back.

Looks good. I enjoy looking at the colors, keep it going!

Well you sure know how to draw legs, that's for sure. :)

Keep it up!

Katea

ajitmenon - good advice thank you :)

Ferx - no thoughts are silly :) It might be good, although I'am wondering - The first idea was such that she is a can-can dancer suddenlywho has just drawn out a gun from under her skirt (most probably ;)) so the floating SW-syringe-thing may not fit. I'm not sure if it could appear fast enough - BUT you gave me a hint of an Idea - hopefully a cool one if it works out you will see it soon :)

ShogunWarrior, Light86 - thank you guys :))

Hi Katarzyna,
she is a beauty, that's for sure. I think the image before you mirror it didn't have the lights under the stage and probable that is the only reason I choose it over the new version. I also (for egoist reasons, since I do have a syringe in my scene too) I don't really feel the syringe is necessary on your scene but if you are going for it, the first one is more interesting. And of course, we can both have syringes.
Good luck!!! And by the way, your color are looking very nice already.

UldFerr - thank you for your comment. I just went to your entry and there are no syringes in your picture. Am I missing something?

Hello Katea,
you are not missing anything, I apologize for my sorry excuse of a joke. Actually, my scene have a syringe too, but it doesn't really matter. Like I said I was just trying to be "funny".
What really matter is the good work you're doing.
Cheers.

UldFerr - I did not get it ;) But that's fine. Thank you and good luck :)

Rupy - thank you very much :)

I am still working on my entry, I have to finish it before the 02.08 which gives me one week less. I took a pic of me and repainter the syringe holding hand. But I will post sth when I change more things - it will be more interesting to see the progress.

BTW - do you think the girls face is realistic enough? Or expressive enough. I always have the biggest problem painting faces without reference. :)

Hey Katea, nice to see you entering. As for my two cents - the first way of holding the syringe is better, more menacing ;) Good luck and hurry - deadline ahead :)
