Hi I'm Nathan Stromwasser. I'm looking to share a room. The 1000 price for a single room for 6 days is a bit steep I think.

My name is Kristen Seliquini, and I have a room to share at the Hilton Garden Inn New Orleans Convention Center (http://www.hiltongardeninn.com/en/gi/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=MSYGIGI), only one block away. It is two double beds (one for me, the other for you), and split half way, $45 each (I will be responsible for taxes, etc.). I would prefer to share with another female. This is for Sunday 8/02 through Saturday 8/08. Send me a pm if interested, please. :)

Hmmm the 89 a day one I could afford myself. Can you buy tickets so that you have an available spot for another person? and also do you get charged more? A guest fee I would assume.

I booked it through Travelocity.com for 1 Adult, but just called them up, and they said changing it to two people would not be a problem. They do not charge more for the second person, and they would just send a fax to the hotel (provided you call them ahead of time).
Yeah, one coul afford $89/day, but do you really want to? hehe :)

No I wouldn't. So if I did decide to reserve a room (probably by tomorrow night) I would offer it up for another, to split the cost too. I was thinking I would have to pay 140 a night.

Hello, Looking to share a room with anyone needing a room mate. I'm from Las Vegas and would like to attend Siegraph this year. I have been looking for a room but they all seem to be very expensive. I thought hotel prices where down due to the economy, but I guess some are still very expensive. It would be nice to get a group of people to get a lg place with more room so that it would be more cofortable and cheaper for us.

Hi there,
Me and two friends have booked a bedroom (3 beds) with a shared bathroom (argh!) at this hostel:
http://www.aaebourbonhouse.com/
Itīll cost 75,00 per day for bedroom (25,00 for each of us).
I really don't know if it worths but we gonna try it.
It stays 0.9 miles from the convention center.
There are others near there.
Good luck!

I've booked a room at the Hilton Garden Inn (which is I believe in walking distance of the conference center.) I have it reserved for 6 days, at $89 a night or $610. I'd be willing to share the room at half of that price (45 a night). Let me know if your interested.

Does anyone have a hotel car parking spot they're not using that's close to the convention center? If so , I would really appreciate that spot. Thank you in advance. :) (...250,000 good karma points)

Please don't take this as rude marceylee, but I'm going to make the same request. I'm staying with a friend that lives about 10 miles from the convention center and if someone has an open hotel spot that I could park in it would help me out a lot. (marceylee, if i get one, I will touch bases with you. And if you haven't gotten one i will relingish mine to you since you asked first).

I think most SIGGRAH hotels charge for the parking space, so that's goig to be tough one. Unless that's less than parking around there.

I think they charge $10 a day to park in the convention centers garage (I read it somewhere).

Ok so I called a few of the hotels near that area, and you're right. They don't offer a free parking spot for the hotels near that area. and bboss you're right. I called the convention center services, and they told me that all day parking is indeed $10 and the parking across the street.

Does anyone know how much it should cost for a cab ride to the Convention Center from the airport? I don't want to get ripped off by the cabbies.

I have a spare bed available. A friend of mine was going to travel with me, but backed out at the last second. The room is at the Holiday Inn on 124 Royal Street, which is a little less than a mile from the convention center.
I would split the rate, which would come out to $50/night. I have the room from Aug. 2-6.

I am looking for a place to stay! If you've got an extra bed and you'd like to split costs, feel free to e-mail me at kuskus -at- gmail -dot- com. I've got a full conference pass so I intend to leave on Friday.

Supposedly it costs $1.60 to take the bus to/from the airport.
I am looking for a place to stay! If you've got an extra bed and want to split the cost of a room, kuskus at gmail. If not, I'm booking solo in a while (waste of resources).
EDIT: Got a place at the Quality Inn. I'm definitely game to meet up for a drink or chat, seeing other threads for this.
