ok guys i´ve looking arround the forum and i didnt find a thread that tells me what i want to know.

Here is the thing i want to buy 2 computers for CG production.
For high poly and low poly.

The budget is from 2000 to 3000 american dollars each.
I know im in Argentina but i will buy the components in USA.

Some questions, its recomended to have 2 CPUs?
I mean does 2 CPU sets work good on windows vista?

Should i consider MAC?

Im here asking for full sets, CPU, Mother, Ram. etc.

I hope this also help others to compare what they want to buy.
Thanks for sharing with me :buttrock:

You'd get a better answer if you went to the Technical and Hardware (http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=23) section of the forum. To answer your question on CPU's ... most cpu's are now either dual or quad core, which in 'essence' means that in a dual core processor you would be getting 2 cpu's in 1, and for quad core you would be getting 4 in 1.

save a ton going the PC route,

You can get get a quad HP with 4gigs for under 800$, check buy.com for weekly deals.

4 of those puppies would make for a nice starter farm.

Only Windows Vista Business and Windows Vista Ultimate will recognize two physical processors, or Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate. Home and Starter versions will recognize only one physical processor. Cheers!
