I have MB sp2 on Vista 64. No probs here with that specific issue...I do have it erring out and shutting down when using its image browser...but that is another conversation.

Though it sounds like you might have one of those notorious graphic card issues (driver or otherwise). If you have an extra graphics card laying around older or not...you could try troubleshooting by trying that card and driver and see if you experience the same issue.
