Hi all, I just graduated and am looking to keep workin on my portfolio. Thing is I gotta buy a computer in the 1300-1500 CA$ range. I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to that stuff, was hoping somebody would be able to help me real quick. Point me in the right direction for what I am looking for.

This computer is going to be used for Autodesk Maya and equivilant programs, for modeling/animation and rendering of course. As well as I will need it to be able to handle zbrush and get to a pretty nice subdivision level, to do fine detailing.

If anyone can let me know what is most important etc. or what kind of things I should be looking for within my budget. I will probably be getting it custom built, buying parts from NCIX.ca unless I find something better. Appreciate any help I can get, Thanks!

Hi -

Looking at your post count, you've been around here long enough, you should know about a nifty little feature called "search". It's up at the top of the page and you can use it to find relevant information.

;)

I'm not trying to be a smartass but those who at least TRY to find some answers themselves are more likely to get help from sr. members here.

Do a search for new workstation and limit the results to the technical and hardware section.

You will find endless recent discussions about how to choose your next workstation.
