View Full Version : Character Concept - Dangerous Babe
jzero 07-27-2003, 07:07 AM This pic represents the first time I've been able to crank out a painting job and actually be happy with it. Just faked it, really, but it worked.
I'm trying to do a female character who is both hot and dangerous (not that original, I know). Someone who could show Vin Diesel's 'Triple X' a good time. Her name is Susxann , and she will indeed kick your ass, leaving large holes from those boots.
Next will be the model sheet, and then a model. I have a weapon model I need to skin that will be perfect for her.

Hey man, cool concept..I'm always into hot babes...
if your just looking for art crits, I'd say the anatomy is a touch off in places..like the feet look small to me, and the front knee is turned out too far to the right, not lined up with the direction of the foot. I like the torso area, good rendering job!
Congrats on your first finished painting, I know how tough that is I just came off a project where I had to do a series of character designs, character sheets, ad color comps...unfortunately its all under NDA so I cant post it:) maybe next year:p
good luck on your model sheet!

Looks good, man.:applause:
Only problem I noticed wuz that the boots look a little thick. I'd quite like to see them tight against the flesh - chunky ankles don't do it for me!!!!:D

Thanks for the replies, all.
jaucifer - The tatoos? The magic of Photoshop Layers, my friend: solid black set to Multiply at 50% opacity.
Aelius - Thanks! The thick boots do it for me, I'm gonna keep them that way. I think they add nice weight to the legs.
Titan - Thanks, and thanks for the anatomy crits. I was just looking at your web site -- impressive body of work there aready! Did you know that I am just down the road from you, in Garland? Hmmmmmm.

Actually, I know about the layering in photoshop, what I like to know is whether, you did the tatoo by inking or by tablet.

I don't read other comments, otherwise I would be at this site 24hrs.
So if your looking for critix, all I would say is personally I'd like bigger boobs and thighs.
Cool concept though, and she even has a tough looking face (strong jaw).
Nice

jaucifer: It's all digital, done on the Wacom tablet. The tattoos are simply drawn freehand with a fat pressure-sensitive brush tool.
VizStorm: I'm gonna have to deny you exactly what you want, buddy, because I'm on a mission. I see way too many babe characters out there modeled with silicone-sized breasts. Such bustlines are evil and a scourge to (wo)mankind. I categorically refuse to even draw such things, and continue to distort the idea of what breasts really look like. So Susxann here is an intentional B-cup.
Gwen Stefani is part of my inspiration, I referenced her midriff for this. Long live Gwen and her A-cups. "Under-neath it all....!"
