View Full Version : Stretch IK Help...PLEASE!

Hey all you riggers! I"m currently working on a rig for my thesis, for school. I created a classic IK/FK setup. What I mean by classic is I have a regular Skin or non fk ik arm...and then I built an IK arm and FK arm. Well, the FK arm works awesome. I have the set driven set up so when its on 10 the FK works and when its on 0 the IK works. Well, the problem i'm having is when the IK is turned on. The stretch IK works on the IK ARM but doesnt translate it to the SKIN arm. Does anyone know why this happening? I really could use some help with this... I attatched some pics so you can see what i'm talking about ....


if anyone knows how to make the skin arm have the stretch IK...please let me know..i tried to apply an IK handle with the stretch IK script on the skin arm...but no luck...PLLLEEEASSSEEE HHEEEELLLPPP!

just connect the scale-values to the skin arm

could do it with a blendColors-node so you can stretch both in ik and fk, then the same thing you did with the SDK

Hey,
How do I connect the scale values? thanks for the response.....I did the IK FK setup through a tutorial so i'm a little fresh with this....I really appreciate you helping me out.

if you only want to stretch in IK, use the connection editor
Load the ik shoulder/uparm or what you call it to the left, then the same joint but for the skin-chain to the right. Then just click on the left side on scale and then on right side scale
