View Full Version : [Item] My Trumpet
Krisc 07-26-2003, 10:37 PM Well...I have dumped the vehicle for a little bit. That thing was fun, but I don't know how to do bodys which is the next step so I am taking a break. I pulled out my trumpet and realized I should model it. So I am...and Rhino3D havings the measurement setups (one square = inch etc) I am making it correct as possible. What do you guys think of it so far?

it's looking nice so far. What model trumpet are you going by? The reason I ask, is that the first bend after the lead pipe (the pipe that goes to the mouth piece) is usualy one a bit more rounded than what you have (from what I remember).
I assume you will cut into the pipes where you pull the pipes out for tuning?
I modeled a trumpet a while back, I remember it was quite fun!

Ya, you are right, I should fix that bend. I am going by my new Jupiter. It is a standard trumpet with some silver pieces on it and an extra finger hold on the back tuning slide! :buttrock:

just a few updates on the piping especially going into the main valves. I also fixed the curve we talked about, how does it look now? I also made the mouth piece mounting part.

if my images are not showing up, it is because my web host is failing for some reason. I will get a temp fix.

added some more detail. the next part to do is i have to go over the tubing and add the detals such as the silver parts and then the bars that hold it together, I also have to add the piping on valve 2 (the middle one).
and c&c? or am i just blabbing to myself? i guess there isnt much to critique on.

hey dan, i have a question...how do I make a raytrace material? It isn't an option for me...and many of my options are different than in your screenshots, not to forget my 3ds max5 is a light grey not a dark grey like yours.
thx

hehe :-)
I have my color scheme set to "Discreet Dark", I like darker things, it's easier on the eyes
