omg! this rocks! :)

the first shot espically - the squity eye, the "crouching" pose, the teeth / cheeks / mouth area - this is practically a 3d rendition of some aardman charcter!!!! if we want species closeness, we can go with the rats in "chicken run".

The HIB is only a funpic as a result of an posting in another forum (cgworld.de). :D
It does 'nt have doing anything with the planned animation. (bad english!?!)

wow... very very cool! I'm pretty sure you're going to make a very cool animation with this guy..

Well here's a bit of critic.. the fur.. I think the bumpy surface doesn't fit to the style right now.. I'd either get completly rit of the texture (just make a nice shader.. maybe even some SSS for a more clay / vaxy like look) or add some real fur.
.. and the eyes.. I think the blue is too bright and should be more glassy.. and the eye lids are too thin.. and the.. ahh.. shit I'll stop here. I think this is going waaaay into personal taste... SORRY.
