Hi everyone. I am a beginner when it comes to rigging, and so get stumped by simple things every day. Right now I have a strange problem I haven't been able to find the solution for. I've built a rig with a left side, and want to start mirroring, starting with the shoulders. So, I mirrored the shoulder (using "behaviour"), deleted the ikHandle and effector that was also created with it, and then I wanted to parent my new R_shoulder under my R_shoulder_grp. But: when I do this, maya creates a transform node over my joints, called transform1. This I didn't like of course, so I tried to parent again, but no matter what I do, Maya creates transform1,2,3 etc. over my joints. What on earth is causing this behaviour??? Did something else get duplicated when mirroring, or have I forgotten to do/set something? I know it must be something incredibly simple, so this is killing me!
