View Full Version : poly modeling - edge chamfer problem

Hi there,

I'm working on a model and I've encountered something that I haven't taken into account ... when I have a rounded shape and I try to chamfer a looped edges (as shown on the img) then the edge chamfers but it doesn't respect the curvature so I have the same ammount of chamfer inside as well as outside ... and that's not exactly what I need :-) ... so if anybody knows how to solve this problem then I'd appreciate any help ... I know I could fix it by moving the vertices after the chamfer by hand but I think it would by quite painful process and even after that I'd not get the exact shape ...

Chamfer's result is based on an absolute offset, not relative to the distance between points... unfortunate in this case, but that's the way it is. Best to find a different solution to the geometry you're after.

how about aligning a Slice Plane to the center of the geometry instead and rotating that?
