I've been having terrible issues with eye strain for the last few months using CRTs, but it seems to feel better when using LCDs.

I know the technical advantages of LCD (no refresh rate, no radiation), but do these really make much of a difference?

How about disadvantages of LCD monitors? Specifically for graphics and animation.

Yes, CRTs emit a low level radiation that can be harmfull with long exposure.

But how about their use for graphic purposes?

Are the colors not as good?

Just like a CRT, you get what you pay for. A cheap LCD will have poor colours, uneven illumination and a slow update rate, ie. lots of motion blur.

Look to NEC or Apple screens if you want crisp, vibrant images with decent update rates.
