View Full Version : growing tenticle?
okay, i've been using 3dsmax for a while. But mainly for pretty easy stuff. Anyhow, now I have to make a growing tenticle. You know, kinda like in some anime you'd see. So, it would grow and there would be a main tenticle with little other tenticles growing around it and such. Anyhow, if you could point me to any tutorials or tell me where to begin, I'd be super happy. Thanks all.

There is a basic tutorial included with MAX also.
At the end of the Path Deform (world space) modifier's reference, there is a quick walkthroug, on how to do that with Path Deform.
Maybe this would be a good way to start. It can be used with morphing, or combining separate veins, tenticles, this method leaves the geometry untuched, only deforms it, but the vertex count, eg. is constant.
