View Full Version : C4D and Messiah
dfaris 07-26-2003, 02:29 AM For anyone that would like to know I have sent the PMG guys
an email about the bridge with C4D. I thought some of you might like to know what they said. Here it is:
My question:
Any word on the C4D bridge? I have sent an email the Maxon also.
Dave
Yup. The C4D8 connection is working fine. There are a few remaining issues to work out, but it's looking good.
BTW, Maxon has been a great help in getting the connection back on track.
This is some good new for those of us the use messiah.

That's good to hear - I have Messiah as well. And from what I could gather - there will be good news at Siggraph from PmG.

Hi Dave:D
You posted on the PmGMessiah Yahoo group a few weeks ago when I asked about Learning Messiah. I'm glad to hear that the tutorials will be ready for Siggraph. My credit card is ready for some serious damage come Siggraph.:scream:

Ah yes I did post there. I can tell you that the tuts will be less then $100 US more like $50 and thats for rigging, setting up IK,
controls, expressions, control bones, for a whole character including hands and fingers. Plus there will some other mini tuts
for rigging the face and such. The mini tuts will be a lot cheaper like $10 to $20 depending on the topic and how long it takes to teach the stuff.
I will let you know when its ready.

I'm glad PMG and Maxon finally got on the same page. I think I may be indirectly responsible for this recent burst of progress. There was sort of a blow-up on the PMG Yahoo group about the poor Cinema support, at which point one of the PMG guys came out and kind of blasted Maxon for allegedly not holding up their end. I forwarded the post to guy helping PMG at Maxon (who was quite shocked by the comments) and I think that got the two sides talking again. Anyway, there was some kind of crossed wires there and I'm sure they'd have gotten it straightened it out pretty soon one way or another.
OTOH, I'll believe it (a functional R8 connection) when I see it.
