View Full Version : new to maya, UV mapping question

It is a UFO. :D
My question is how to scale the UV Maps so it fits into the grid and then how to save it?

Short answer..
Right click on the UV texture editor and select UVs from the dropdown menu, select all the uvs, then select the scale tool and scale the UVs down so they fit into the one tile.

could you also help me how to add a bump map, ive got the bump map texture finished, i just dont know how to attach it through hypershade :blush:

Another short answer..
Select your object, show the Attribute Editor, keep clicking through the nodes until you get to your shader,
it'd probably be a blinn (or lambert), these have a field called bump mapping, click the checkerbox to the right of this text field,
choose normal and File,
you should now have two new nodes: bump2d1 and file1
select the file1 node, then click the folder thumb button to the right of the Field 'Image Name' and select the file from your file manager
