I was just thinking - why isn't this done... I find myself and others reaching over to the keyboard a lot. Am I alone in thinking this?

Sheet of MDF and some gaffer tape? Make your own

It seems like taking the two largest human interface devices and making them into one even larger device would just make things more cumbersome. Maybe take an old rotating cabinet base and put it on your desk with the keyboard on one side and the tablet on the other.

I didn't realise until the other day that using a wacom tablet with a vista laptop gives you some advanced tablet PC functions...such as an onscreen keyboard and gestures.

yeah - have you checked out the new math equations thing - you can write math equations and it recognizes them. pretty dorky but i loved it for like 10 minutes.

Yes - you could look at it like that - two big devices = cumbersome but I was thinking more along the lines of a smaller keyboard that would only take up like 1 more inch than the pretty useless things (ltd.) they put on wacom nowadays. You wouldn't use this to type up your autobiography but...

Looking at my a4 intuos3 - you could easily, easily fit a medium to large netbook style keyboard on the wasted space.

you guys remind me of the camera phone:
