This is my first CGS challenge. I'm gutted i missed the beginning and am 2 weeks behind - every day counts when you're up against such skill.
My choice of Secret Agent is a Mime-Artist. I have yet to plan the character and the scene, but i think it's going to be great fun doing this one. There are a few reasons why i think a Mime would be a winning choice for this comp:
A Mime has no identity and no nationality, Ideal for a Secret Agent. A mime can blend into the environment making surveillance relatively easy - no need to hide in the shadows as such, so up front & personal. No speech, so no giving up info - it's a secret!. A mime has a lonely job - Secret Agents would rarely make or keep friends, i guess to protect themselves from loss. A mime is also quite a sad character - carries a lot of baggage.
It also presents an interesting twist for this CG art competition because it's about creating someone that doesn't look real, yet must look real/believable, yet we all know it's not real. If it works out too well, too perfect, it will be a failure. So there has to be error for it to be believable - and not just look like a statue! Miming is a very expressive non-expressive form of art, go figure, so it's an art (agent), within an art (mime), within an art (CG). Now i just have to pull it off somehow, it's not going to be easy. My tools will be 3DS Max and Photoshop.
Good luck to everyone!
