View Full Version : I wonder if this is Fluid Shader or Toon Shader.
This thread should be in Rendering but somehow I feel this one relate to Dynamic so post it here.
This is a video I found on Youtube and I wonder did they use fluid for the shader or they use Toon shader. If anyone has any clue please share your knowledge. I really appreciate that.

Could be a combination of both, maybe even some of it done in post.
Have you ever tried to make anything like that Aiki?

I havent played much with the toon shader but I have seen some awesome stuff done with PaintFX and theres a lot you can do with SFX filters in post that distort edges and color.

I don't know exactly how he does that.
but the studio i'm at is doing a good job on these chinese brush painting effects, and have got some reward at siggraph and some classic CG animation book. it's long time ago and i wasn't in the team for that project. but as i know, it's all in the shading part. unfortunately it may not involved dynamics. and the compositing work is important too.
hope it helps.
i'll see if i can find some info for you, it's hard because they're all written in chinese...

Some info on this subject would be great! I see these type of animations every were. There has to be someone that knows how they are achieved.
There are a few project papers on non-photorealistic rendering at Bournemouth University.

Thanks Wima. Those projects are very nice. I'm looking into it.
