AVTPro's ReadyRigs: FK Spine DVD

The new FK Spine DVD is compressing now. So it's done. It was a good decision to do the FK spine before a full rig.

Though it's still compiling I don't think the whole DVD is more than 3 hours. Again, this training helps extend your rigging to professional technics and principles. Many user shy a from professional rigging paradigms because of some of the confusing behaviors inherently built in EI bones and algorithms. This DVD rigging best practices for getting a professional job done use for my clients such as PUMA, BMW, Pepsi, Disney, Frank Gehry, IDeaDesign, DWU Studios and so forth and etc.

I'm very proud of the final product. I am so tempted to animate it.
I will post another sample but it's the same as the FK spine Jumping animation I posted.

SPINE ONLY!!
Tails, Spines and Wires.

Good points about the DVD are:

1. Building an Natural "S" Spine.
2. Controlling Smooth Spine deformations (8 bones) with a control skeleton (3 bones)
3. Mastering Icon controls orientations.
4. Clean numerics vs garbage values.
5. Weighting spines.
6. Ubershapes.
7. Color Coding and professional rigging for animators.
8. Iconic GUI vs nondescript bones.

Bonus.

IK Spine.

It's still compressing. I will let you know tommorrow. All the files will be compressed then. There are four video. The longest is one hour, one at 53 and one 45 minutes. The intro is 19 minutes. When I make them that are 2-3 gigs. When I compress them they are only 200 mb.

I'm doing the IK spine tonite. It's going to be a lot of fun and I am very happy I did this the way I have. I think it take about 10-15 to convert the FK to IK and about 30 minutes to teach and talk it through.

It's great because people can learn how to do cool smooth spines and when they do a final rig it will be a cinch. Nice thing is I know that I have released the knowledge and it would be lost.

I never use IK spines, but now that I have rigged one, I know it's just like a Maya IK spine, just a little more that's all.

Each part, the spine, arm control and reverse foot lock are higher level, layer rigging, so I need to sell them separate not a one HUGE long DVD. But I will bundle them and make one more full instense rig and then these separate DVD's will be excellent components.

AzOne, I do ship internationally, but if it will help I will try to compress a small version at a later day.

If I can get it to a Youtube FLV. I will let you know, I think there are free compressor but I don't want it so small. 1280 x 720 is best.

Ok. The tutorial, projects and all that good stuff is all done. It's 1 Gg (1.18 unzipped)
The projects were done in v.8 but it's not necessary to use the projects if you are following along with the videos.

Here's the original diagram for the fK spine by Julian.

More videos to come. to come.
