Hi!

Schools over, so I thought I´d make a new reel, and here it is

I wanted to get away from the standard "nudging every controll"-demo, what do you think about that? Good or bad?

Oh, by the way. Looking for a job now, so if you know of any, please let me know :)

I like the way how you only showed the key features of each rig. The only suggestion from me would be that the facial rigs need more time. Either show more about the controls or show picture/video of several typical test expressions, like angry, smile, etc. Keep up with the good work.

well, overall its pretty cool, though the best way to go with a reel is to put your best work first, and the first thing we see in your reel is ... The transformer rig... Personally I would even remove it from the reel as it might make people close the video before seeing more.

The transformer rig doesn't show much rigging features ( and the animation really doesn't help ). The "non-transformed" part where you showed the car rig was cool, I would only keep that part.

I think that without the transformer part the reel would be pretty cool

Yes I agree with EricDLegare about the transformer. The demo could have been better with some nice animation and some final footage. I liked the auto rigger and its graphical interface. Overall its a cool reel...:D

Big THANKS for the awesome feedback, the transformer really should go, you are so right about that. I had it there to sort of show that I could do something different but the result and demo just sucked ...

Changed some things, and here is the new version

I hope it´s stronger now :)

Much much better.

though, I know I said "put your best work first", but you must also end with a positive note so people will remember good stuff...

finishing by this bad transforming animation just ruins the experience, and when the guys will discuss it in they will be talking about "the transformer reel" because the last thing they remember from it is that.

Okey, I´ve removed that too. Thanks for the help Eric, really great!

Boucha, I think your right that some GREAT animations would really raise the level alot. But, seeing non-great animations on a rigging reel is really lowering the level alot more I think, so I left it out since I´m no great animator yet :) But I agree with you for sure!

Otto,

Now the reel is much interesting. Yes, putting some animation could have been better but never the less a rigger's reel is bound to be just moving some controllers and going a bit technical.

Best Wishes

Hey Otto,

the reel is looking good. I have to agree with the animation part. What about animating a walkcycle or a little jump/squash/stretch animation with the mouse character or a nasty snarl with the ape one. Both look good enough from the rigging controls and the mesh to deliver some nice results.

Good luck and have fun

Chris
