Man this is looking cool! Good composition and the eyes follow very nice troughout the picture. Love the tiger cave, looks cool. Awesome sky aswell. This could turn out really good.

Looks really cool, although I think the cave and steps look a little too big, as that would be one huge entrance to a cave.

I agree, the cave is totally out of scale, at that distance those stairs would be even gigantic for king kong, and regular human scale stairs would be almost invisible, I would suggest more details that tell the viewer the real scale , like in your source photo you see how the foreground buildings look in scale , imagine moving them in the mountain base position, those buildings would actually look like dots, I think the composition is ok but I would move the foreground detail gargolie a little to the right, it is too close to the left edge.

Jaime, thank you very much for crits! :bounce:
Actually, I want to tell about Nifelheim. Nifelheim is the one of nine worlds in Scandinavian Mithology. The land of ice and fogs and Icy Giants.
So, I draw this gigantic cave and stairs, because giants really bigger than king kong :buttrock:

p.s. I saw your last works for X-men and Star Wars. Really great and exceptional work!!! I’am your big fun!
(sorry of my bad english)

sweet,
I do have to point out that IMO there is so much more detail on the lions head entrance versus the mountain that the two look stuck together.

Keep it up!

Hi there. I think what you've already done looks really good but it needs more.

To me it feels very matter-of-fact.
There's a statue, there's a mountain. Ba bum.

This is fine if you're just trying to match a plate where the foreground is the area of interest. I saw that you were inspired by Nifelheim, and you mentioned ice, fog and icy giants. It sounds like you want to make some awe-inspiring amazing matte, which is a really cool idea, so you should do it.

Maybe widen the shot a little, and give us a sense of awe by jamming some scale into this image- more mountain peaks peeking up through the clouds (no pun intended) to lead our eye into the main mountain so we don't just jump from 1 element to another, some really huge background mountains to suggest this is a place of wonder, maybe with some settlements like the one in your reference to show the size of this environment. Don't be afraid to go ott a little, you can always scale it back.

Just some thoughts :)

Look at the tiger's eyes!
It looks like the tiger really got afraid of something :)
The eyes are too big and round.

I absolutely think you should keep the tiger opening, it sticks out and spice the image. However you should try to make it sink in better with the mountain. As someone said you probably need to add something more to make the eye move more troughout the image, now its like a 5 second look and you have seen pretty much all, maybe add a group of people on the side of the statue to show its majestic scale, or maybe a person in the opening of the tiger cave with a torch. But youre on a good way it looks really awesome. ;)
