View Full Version : lattice problems.
Levitateme 07-25-2003, 08:43 AM after i create a lattice, on like a finger, cant i rotate the lattice without it effecting my geometry somehow? this way when i move the lattice points, they would be in the shape of my finger, cause nothing in 3d is always just flat and strait. i hope someone can help me on this thanks.

If you rotate lattice and its base together (or if you group them and rotate the group) yes, you can do that.
But if you want to create lattice which is not in box shape (cylinder or finger shape) I don't think you can do that.
Lattice base is always a box. In that case I suggest you create polycage for the finger and use this as a warp deformer. That should work better.

misteredi, thanks for replying sa fast.
i have done that in the past. but when i rotate, its like its leaving out some of the vertices. i can only get it to work from were it was created. does that sound like anything familiar?

One thing working with lattice is all the CVs or vertext should be inside the base lattice, otherwise it won't affected by the lattice deformer. Why don't you be more generous scaling the lattice and the base lattice slightly bigger than the original?.
Just make sure everything is inside the base lattice.

OI, thats is what i have been doing wrong all this tmie then. so just scale the base that makes perfect sense. thanks tons misetedi.
