View Full Version : Animation: short animation to dialogue
joelyabrudy 07-24-2003, 08:13 PM I would like comments on this piece. Be truthful.
The lipsynch isn't completely perfect yet. I'm working on that.

joel,
had a little trouble with your link (to www.fantastic3d.com), but your found your Clint Eastwood clip with your flash interface.
I think you were provided a good rig and you used it like a true pupateer! Your timing works ... only 'Eastwood' needs a BG!
Also enjoyed The Ring: A Short Film. lo|)

Thanks a lot. I appreciate it.
I'm not sure why you can't see the link. It works just fine for me. Maybe if you right click and Save as...

my fiancee has her degree in acting, and is an acting coach -- the following are her thoughts:
Truthful. Okay. Now I know which one you want me to critique.
I like the helmet falling over the face here. That worked.
Question, what is your action here? What does this character WANT. To convince his audience, to gain control, to make his audience fear?....Choose one.
When you choose what your character wants and, in your imagination, decide what it would look like if your character got what they wanted (ie, his audience starts to worship him, his audience starts to quake) then the actions of the character become clear.
Right now, your character is doing actions to attain his goal but then pulling BACk from them. Specifically, why does he step back? HIs upper body knows what it wants and GOES for the action of achieving power BUT his legs are not sure what they want.
Plant the feet. Join them with the rest of the body.
Next time you watch an amateur play, check the actor's feet. Most likely, they will "wander" as they talk. It detracts from the action.
