Hi respected CGTalkers :) .
We finally finished our new animation. It is an introduction movie for the Solar Team Twente that is going to compete (and win) in the World Solar Challenge 2009 in Australia later this year.
It was produced entirely in Cinema4D and After effects.

We used a lot of computers to render this one. We rendered in 32-bit at 1920x1080. The original Porsche movie was rendered on one computer in 4 months, this only took a week on multiple machines. We are currently building a bigger renderfarm so we can do this kind of quality super fast.
The Hangar the car is standing in was built from HDR photographs, there is even a runway outside that you can only see in the reflections of the car! The idea behind the huge fan was to put emphasis on the aerodynamic and extremely sleek design. It also gives the reflections something to play with. The LaZ0rs are there to give the car the color Red transmitted through light.
We had a lot of fun working on this project since we got so much support and freedom from the team.
Good Luck in Australia later this year!
