This is the very first design of the sketch, I'm inspired by the Indonesian 1945 Independence although I'm a German. Well frankly, I really don't know how to do the colouring. Could somebody enlighten me with the proper colouring technique?

Thank You

I'm nowhere near being an expert, but in my experience, you come up with the lighting first. That means a grey scale to help you figure out where the highlights and shadows are going to be for everything. Then go over the building and background with the main colors. Worry about the details last.

Thank you for the reply, there's one thing I want to ask about the brush. What brush should I use to color the sketch properly?

It actually doesn't matter that much as long as you don't use a really fuzzy one. For a starting point, pick a hard edged brush (one that in the preview is a flat black circle), and whose opacity varies with pressure (i.e. the harder you press the more opaque it is). Remember in the real world we only have one kind of brush - a stick with bristles on it - and artists make that brush do what they want based on how they use it. A lot of the pros here use just one kind of brush for an entire painting; and to be honest the more I paint the fewer brushes I use.

I don't know why but it just doesn't feel quite dramatic...

Comments, Critique and Suggestion are welcome. :)
