Well i think you guys should make ,tutorials that are usefull , there's already introduction to maya , i don't know why it's necesary to make for maya 2009 ,
maybe because it's recesion .. and this way it's easy money.
Maybe in the future you guys think of making a render pass tutorial for maya 2009. :D
good luck

well tbh, even updates on the same product are nice - this is especially for people who are new to the package... i'm basically completely new to 3ds Max and i'm using the new 2010 version... i got a tutorial dvd for the 2009 version and not that i would be lost or anything, but the stuff's just different lol - menus, location of all kinds of settings.. i mean, of course you're only gonna have problems if you're completely computer illiterate, but still... less pain in the arse is less pain in the arse :D

It may not be useful to you but that doesn't mean it isn't useful to others. DT cover as wide a range over lots of applications as any other content creator. Not sure why you would complain over one title that isn't for you.

I think you didn't read what i posted
there's already a introduction to maya
and from that version of maya 8.5 to this 2009 it's not alot changed , i'm a maya user and i'm not noob.
i was just saying that they should make something that is new , not to make an update that doesn't realy matter.
it's like this year if maya 2010 appears , by the end of the year they will realease another introduction to maya ,
but that's my opinion , it's recesion and this is easy money

put it this way old chap, if your a new user fo maya would you/they want to buy training for a version that 3 or 4 releases behind or want an uptodate training pack?
could well be that MANY people contacted DT on just such a request for an update.
okay it's not for YOU...but please realise there's more than you as a customer out there and many new students would be looking at digital tutors being 'current' which they are if you care to look.

As a new user to Maya, I am interested in getting a video of the latest and greatest instead of something from 2-3 versions back. Anyway, does anyone know if DT have increased their video size or if they are still using the ity-bity little square resolution of the rest of their vids? They really need to go to 1280x720 or something. They have great training material, but the resolution is just too small.
I just started my first Maya class today. In preparation this prior week I've been watching tutorials pretty much all day long. I made it through disc 2, and I like this one quite a bit. There are times when they show you new and old ways to do the same thing, so it's been good to me so far.

I read your post and disagree. Its not easy money. They are providing training for those peopl;e who want it specific to 2009 and onwards. It is not for the like of you.
Its only easy money for those who feel they need it. Anyone who has already done the previous dvd will not buy this, so it is not easy money.
Supply and demand, they provide tutorials for what peope have asked for.
