Wow i would love to see that thing textured and turned into a softbody.Jiggle jiggle :P
Wicked stuff. I saw some detailed shots of the head at some other board, cgchat I think, can you post some detailed shot of your final version please? Looks awesome! Impossible to rig & animate I would think, but please prove me wrong! ;)

Hey thanks a lot for your quick feedback:beer:
dirkusrhombas : Well I hope I will have time to do this but I have to concentrate on my demo reel right now.(I am looking for a job)
JZA: Here is a close up

And a wireframe shot. I think thi model would be pretty easy to rig, as it's made with NURBS patches +displacement ;)

Love it! The only thing that bugs me is the anatomy of the hands. Looks like this guy's made to walk on all fours, if you know what I mean. Maybe this is your intention, or maybe not. He'd probably look better with some more developed hands. Either way, it's awesome!
:surprised :applause: I hate one line responces but all i can say is DAMN!

hey!!:wavey:
looks very cool.
i could be mistaken but i'm sure that i can see the seams in some places, especially the belly area.
what's paraform?
i've never heard of it.
how did you make al the little creases? i noticed they aren't on the nurbs model.
do many people still use nurbs for character creation?
i thought that everybody was turning to sub-d's?
cheers!!

WOW Thanks a lot for your feedback all!
Very Encouraging:beer:
Special thanks to Tomaya (je croyais que t'étais en vacance, Cybercafé?) and Bitos (post your creature RIC!!!)
I used Paraform to refine and surface the poly mesh. But I saw Dave's work on front page, Zbrush (and especially the new release) seems to be really amazing to put details.
Again Thank you so much for your comments!

what is Paraform ?
Excuse my poor English.
The dispalcement isn't by hand painted?
thanks!
PascalR
07-27-2003, 01:31 PM
well, Paraform is an inverse ingeneering tool, used to convert Highrez scanned data into nurbs patch, by many vfx houses.
You can extract displacment maps from your hirez poly mesh.
Cheers!

Question: How did you achieve all of the folds in the skin when you didn't model them in? If you did it with bump or displacement maps, I would love to see them!
Very creative style you have. I've enjoyed all of the work you have posted here at CGtalk. Looking forward to seeing what you create next.

nice stuff...once u convert them to polys it'll be ready from quake 4 hehe :)
but have u tryed to hide the seams?
i know its a small detail but to me it makes it look like it was molded from plastic.

Hey thanks all for your kind words:beer:
rayz: Thanks a lot! the water is an animated procedural displacement map done with MTOR.
18th_Devil: Quake 4 yeah, that would be great! And you 're right a bout the seems, I think it comes from my version of RAT, i didn't have tis problem with earlier versions.
CgMonkey: Thanks you very much for you post
ZVAN : Thanks a lot! I can't wait to try the next zbrush version, so that I won't need to make nurbs patch anymore!
