Hello everyone,

This is my latest reel. I graduated last November, but I'm still looking for a permanent position somewhere. Modeling is my main focal point at the moment until I can get employed and then I'll hopefully be able to spend some more of my free time with lighting and texture work.

I'd love some feedback on this work. I'm focused on organic modeling for the next few projects so i can build some more balance to my future reel

Caedes,

Some nice stuff in there man, looks like a lot of work went in to those models. I've heard though, that you should never put WIP's into your reel.

Good luck job hunting!

Insane job dude! A lot of it was higher poly than you needed, but the attention to detail is impressive. Great reel  and good luck on the job hunt!

The show room looks awesome. Lighting is gorgeous. Did you do all the lighting and shading? You've certainly shown your hard-surface modeling is up to a very high level but if you can get another shot like the show room into you're reel, you'll definitely be on your way to success!

On a technical note, did you have anything to do with the rendering / compositing of the show room? If so, watch out for the flickering in the light under one of the tables.

With regards to the WIP thing, I reckon you just shouldn't write WIP on the reel. The car looks like a complete model, I've seen plenty of clay renders in high end reels.

Anyway, don't forget to tailor your reel to the studio at which you apply. If it's a smaller studio, you'll probably want to show them everything. If it's a large studio and you're applying for a modeling position, straight clay renders like the first two models will probably be more appropriate.

Thank you for the comments everyone I really appreciate getting some feedback on the work. It's kind of difficult to gauge exactly where I am, but I've been always been afraid to air my work publicly, especially on here, the standards on here are fantastic and its a little daunting to post for the first time.

These last few projects I've felt much more positive about so I thought I would finally come out of the woodwork and post something :D . I've still to finish them with textures which is why I haven't posted them on the 3D still section yet, but they will be there in the near future.

JosueMariscal - Thanks for the advice, I wasn't sure whether to add the WIP or not, I kind of made the decision that i didn't want to give the companies the impression it was completed when I'm still working on elements of it. Maybe that doesn't matter?

etmed - Thanks a lot

usumakikung - Thanks

mistasam02 - Thank you, The base poly count is actually a fair bit lower than that, but I just applied a smoothing node to it to make it more presentable

Morlankey - Thanks a lot, All the lighting and shading work was done by myself and a colleague. We were working on another project at the same time so we were on an incredibly tight schedule. With regards to the renders, all the technical elements were set up by me and then handed over to our boss to set them off and composite the final version (which as far as I'm aware was only really to add a bit of DOF and minor colour enhancement) I hadn't actually noticed the flickering under the tables at all. I'll have a look for it :)

Great models dude!
The mecca is very good, I didn't only like arms in hexagon that, in my opinion, it is not in the same level of the rest of the model. That part could have more details.
Lanborghini is excellent.
Good job man!
bye...
