View Full Version : exporting skeleton animation
xavifor 07-24-2003, 10:39 AM Hey, people!!
I've animated an skeleton with a walking cycle and a running cycle. Now, I want to export this animation info so I can use it in another scene, for a different character which uses the same skeleton. How do I do it??
Thanx for helping!!:applause:

Select all your F-Curves and save an action. Then find the action you saved in the explorer and double click on it. Press the save button and save it to any folder.
You can now open up the clip in another scene.
In the new scene. Open up the mixer for your model. Right click on a animation track and chose "Load Source From File"
Everything in your skeleton hierarchy has to have the same naming convention.

 WOW!
Glad to read response from you, Stefan!!
Your explanation worked perfectly, thanx a lot!
But I have a problem with the running cycle: its a 18 frames long cycle, and the first and last frame have the same values. When I loop it in the animation mixer, the animation is not fluent, it stops a little when the cycle restarts...
In the walk cycle (33 frames) I did the same (to use the same values in first and last frame) and I haven't that repetition problem...
Do you know what am I doing wrong?
Thanx for your time!!:wavey:

open up the clip properties and change the OUT values to a few frames less that what you originaly have your animation.
You might wanna check so that you also got all F-Curves present. Select the clip in the mixer, right click and chose Animation Editor so check it
